Some mornings on the islands feel like a soft secret. The longtail boats sleep quietly. The sea is calm like it’s holding its breath. And I’m standing there with a heart already halfway to the next island.

Island hopping always begins the same way: a slow walk to the pier, a warm breeze, and the quiet hope that today will be sunny.

But the islands have their own personality.
And the rain?
It has its own sense of humor.

This is my diary of simple Thai weather words — the ones guides actually say while laughing, pointing at the sky, or shrugging like “up to the island.”

Rain.
