Koh Kharm in golden light

A warm evening drifting toward the horizon.

Light settling softly on the sea

The day felt good before it even started trying. I left Pathum Thani in my EV with that soft early‑day excitement — quiet roads, cool air, and the kind of drive where the world feels easy. The motorway opened wide and calm, and the EV hummed along like it was also in a good mood.

A few hours later I rolled into Ocean Marina Jomtien, the big private marina just south of Jomtien Beach. It’s the largest marina in Thailand — rows of white yachts, clean docks, calm water, and that gentle sea breeze that instantly feels like “holiday mode.” The sail catamaran waited at the pier, wide and steady, ready for a happy one‑day trip you can book with Pam — a simple little charter if you visit Pattaya and want a soft day on the sea.

Koh Khram Yai sat far out in the distance, green and untouched, like a quiet secret the sea keeps for itself.
There’s also Koh Khram Noi, the smaller one beside it — yai means big, noi means small — and when people say just Koh Khram, they’re talking about the big one, Koh Khram Yai.

Leaving Ocean Marina Jomtien

A soft line drifting into warm light

The catamaran glided out of the marina with that smooth “don’t worry, I’ve got you” feeling. Ocean Marina Jomtien shrank behind us — the breakwater, the docks, the still water — all slipping into the background as the open sea opened wide.

The water outside the marina changed instantly. Deeper blue. Brighter reflections. Little sparkles everywhere. It felt like the sea was also enjoying the day.

Snorkeling around Koh Khram

Clear water, bright fish, a happy splash

Before golden hour arrived, we stopped at one of the snorkeling spots around Koh Khram. The island is protected by the Royal Thai Navy — no buildings, no crowds, no landing — just forest, cliffs, and clear water all around. But the sea near it is perfect for snorkeling.

I slipped into the water with that tiny “oh!” moment when the sea first touches your skin. Then everything turned fun — bright fish darting around, soft corals below, sunlight dancing on the surface. It felt like swimming inside a quiet aquarium that belonged only to us.

The catamaran floated gently nearby, like it was watching over the moment.

Approaching Koh Khram

.
.
An island resting in the quiet hour

Koh Khram appeared slowly, a deep green shape rising from the water.
It’s untouched — no shops, no resorts, no noise — just nature doing its own thing. The closer we got, the calmer everything felt. The waves softened. The air turned warm and still. Even the catamaran seemed to relax, gliding like it didn’t want to disturb the island.

When the sun touched the water

.
A warm line falling across the sea

The sky opened into soft colors. Orange melting into pink. Pink fading into blue. Everyone on the catamaran went quiet in that happy way when nature does something simple and beautiful.

Koh Khram glowed at the edge of the horizon — green turning gold, shadows stretching long, the whole island looking like it was smiling back at the sun.

Drifting in the golden hour

.
.
A moment carried by fading light

The catamaran circled slowly, giving us more time inside the warmest part of the day. Waves brushed the hulls. Light shimmered everywhere. The air felt soft and friendly.

I leaned on the rail letting the moment settle into me. Golden hour felt like a friend today — warm, gentle, playful, the kind of friend who always shows up at the right time.

After the light faded

.
.
The sea breathing in the last warmth

The sun slipped behind the horizon leaving a glow that stayed longer than expected. The catamaran turned back toward Ocean Marina Jomtien, its lights twinkling softly in the distance like they were welcoming us home.

A thin line of gold lingered on the sea — the day’s last smile. Koh Khram faded into the dark but the feeling stayed warm light and quietly happy.
