Hot Stream Waterfall in Krabi, Thailand’s jungle jacuzzi.
Krabi
Tucked away in the lush Khlong Thom district of Krabi, the Hot Stream Waterfall, locally known as Namtok Ron Khlong Thom, is a geothermal marvel that blends tropical jungle serenity with the soothing embrace of natural hot springs. It’s not just a waterfall, it’s a jungle spa sculpted by nature.
Thermal
Nature’s thermal retreat. The water flows at a balmy 40–50°C (104–122°F), warmed by underground volcanic chambers. Surrounded by dense forest, the stream cascades over smooth rock terraces, forming a series of small, clear pools that resemble natural bathtubs. With mineral-rich waters, locals believe the spring’s mineral content helps relieve muscle tension and improve circulation.
Getting there
Located about 50 minutes from Krabi Town or an hour from Ao Nang, the site is best accessed via a guided tour that often includes stops at the nearby Emerald Pool and Tiger Cave Temple. Then take a short 400-meter jungle trail leads from the entrance to the waterfall. For those who prefer a gentler approach, a tram ride is available for a small fee, 10 baht.
What to Expect
Natural Jacuzzi pools: About 10 small basins carved into the rock by centuries of flowing water.
Cool river below: After soaking in the warm pools, visitors can dip into the cooler stream below for a refreshing contrast.
Massage huts & spa area, a rustic spa and massage area near the falls.
