Than Bok Khorani National Park

A landscape shaped by water, limestone, and time.

Within its boundaries lies one of the Andaman Sea’s most iconic jewels, Koh Hong, an island where cliffs rise like cathedral walls and the sea glows in shades of jade and turquoise.

The park

Than Bok Khorani is known for its emerald pools, mangrove forests, and dramatic karst formations. Streams flow through caves, butterflies drift through the forest canopy, and the atmosphere feels cool even on hot days. It’s a sanctuary where land and sea blend seamlessly.

Koh Hong

The heart of the park’s island world, famous for:

  • The Hidden Lagoon (Hong)
A calm, enclosed emerald basin accessible through a narrow limestone passage. At high tide, the lagoon feels like a secret world; at low tide, the cliffs tower even higher.
  • The Crescent Beach
Powdery white sand curving gently between limestone cliffs. The water is clear enough to see fish weaving through the shallows.
  • The Viewpoint
A short climb leads to a sweeping 360° panorama of the Andaman Sea—turquoise layers, scattered islands, and the soft horizon.

Atmosphere

Koh Hong carries the quiet, protected feeling of a national park. Sea eagles glide overhead, the water shifts color with the sun, and the cliffs create a natural amphitheater of calm.

Getting there

Boats depart from Ao Nang, Khlong Muang, and Thalane Pier. As part of Than Bok Khorani National Park, an entrance fee helps preserve the island’s fragile ecosystem.
