My little Tristan day

My tiny vintage blue buddy.

Today I wore my vintage Swatch from 1990 —
the Tristan, model GB135 —
and it felt like wearing a tiny grandfather on my wrist.
This watch was made just one year after I was born,
so it carries this warm, old‑soul feeling,
like it has been watching the world a little longer than me
and still ticks with soft patience.

The case is a deep dark blue,
round and simple,
the kind of blue that feels like old books,
old toys,
old mornings when life was slower.
It’s light plastic,
classic Swatch,
but with that gentle vintage calm
that only time can give.

The dial is a soft silver,
with a Welsh‑inspired swirl in the center.
It looks like a tiny wind from the past,
a little symbol that has been spinning quietly
for more than thirty years.
It doesn’t try to shine.
It just sits there,
quiet and wise.

The hands are silver too,
steady and clean,
and the red second hand moves like a tiny heartbeat
that has been ticking since 1990.
Slow, patient,
never in a rush.

The original strap had lived its life,
so I replaced it with a new dark blue silicone strap.
Soft, smooth, gentle on the skin.
It matches the case in a sweet, simple way,
like the watch finally got a pair of shoes
that fit its age and personality.
It makes the whole piece feel fresh again,
but still keeps its old spirit.
Like giving a grandfather
a new pair of soft shoes
that help him walk a little easier.

Inside, it runs on quartz,
steady and reliable,
a quiet rhythm that has followed the world
through so many years
without ever asking for attention.

Wearing it made me feel small in a sweet way.
Like time was holding my hand.
Like this little watch had been waiting for me
since the year I was born,
just to say,
“I’m still here.”

This Tristan doesn’t try to impress.
It doesn’t act dramatic.
It just sits there like a tiny vintage friend
with soft eyes and old stories,
happy that someone still chooses it.

Someone looked at it and said,
“wow, that’s really old,”
and the Tristan didn’t mind at all.
It just stayed calm,
like a little grandfather smiling quietly.

So today I didn’t just wear a watch.
I wore a piece of 1990,
a soft blue memory,
a swirl of old art,
and a tiny heartbeat from the past
ticking gently on my wrist.

And honestly…
I let it.
