Island Number 4, the moment I slipped away for a quiet snorkel.

Front beach first, small beach for me.
Koh 4 — pronounced “Koh Si,” or simply “Island Number 4” in English — is one of those small, bright Similan islands that feels soft the moment you arrive.
Our boat stopped first at Haad Nah, the front beach.
(“Nah” means front in Thai.)
This is where we had lunch — simple, beach‑side, island‑style. After eating, everyone drifted into their own little relax time.
Some people stretched out on the sand.
Some took photos.
Some did a full mermaid photoshoot — tails, poses, sunlight, everything.
Haad Nah is perfect for that kind of playful moment.
But while everyone enjoyed the front beach, I felt myself pulling in a different direction.
I walked alone toward Haad Lek, the small beach.
(“Lek” means small.)
It’s tucked behind the trees, quieter and gentler, almost like a hidden corner waiting for someone who wants a softer moment.
Some people stayed for photos.
Some stayed for the breeze.
Some stayed for the sand.
But me?
I wanted the sea.
I walked along Haad Lek until I found a calm patch of water — no waves, no crowds, just a soft blue waiting for me. I put on my mask, stepped in, and let the world fade into the quiet rhythm of snorkeling.
Tiny fish drifting past.
Sunlight dancing on the sand.
My breathing slow and steady.
After a little while, I came back to the same spot — the same soft sand, the same gentle breeze. It felt like a small break inside a bigger day, a quiet pause that made everything else feel lighter.
Koh 4 doesn’t rush you.
It lets you eat, rest, wander, take photos, or walk alone to find your own moment.
And sometimes, walking alone is exactly what you need.
