A sea so blue it felt like it was calling your name.

The early morning in Patong was still and cool, the kind of quiet that feels almost delicate. A car picked me up from my hotel before the sky had fully opened, taking me toward the Similan Islands—waters known for their world‑class clarity and the kind of blue that stays in your memory long after you leave.
On the way to the pier, the sky slowly shifted from soft grey to a gentle blue, as if whispering that today would be a beautiful day. When it was time to board, I stepped onto the speedboat with a heart that simply wanted to rest, to let the sea carry whatever thoughts I didn’t need. The engine grew louder, but the wind stayed soft, brushing against my face as if encouraging me to let go and drift with the rhythm of the morning.
The Similan sea

Clear enough to feel like another world
As we approached Island No. 8, the water turned into a shade of blue so clear it felt unreal—transparent enough to see the sandy bottom far below. It looked like a sheet of glass reflecting the sky, a world where everything was calm, bright, and impossibly gentle. Massive granite boulders rose from the sea like sculptures shaped by time, and the iconic Sailing Rock stood proudly above them all, watching over the island like a quiet guardian.
I climbed up to the viewpoint, the wind brushing past me, and the endless blue stretching out in every direction made my heart feel lighter than it had in weeks.
Snorkeling

A living story beneath the surface.
Later in the morning, the boat took me to Island No. 9 for snorkeling. The water was so clear that schools of silver fish glided past as if they were greeting me. Coral reefs in soft pastels spread out beneath me like an underwater garden that never fades. Floating on the surface, I felt as though I was reading a story written by the sea—alive, colorful, and full of quiet movement.
Island No. 4

Soft white sand and a slow, warm breeze.
Around midday, we stopped at Island No. 4. The sand was so soft it felt like powder beneath my feet. I sat under the shade of the trees, watching the calm turquoise water and letting the warm breeze settle gently on my skin. It felt like the island was offering me a moment of stillness, a small gift wrapped in sunlight and salt air.
The jouney back

A golden ending.
In the late afternoon, the boat began its journey back to Khao Lak. The sky turned golden, softer than in the morning, as if carrying the memories of the entire day within its light. I watched the sea quietly and realized that coming to the Similan Islands wasn’t just a trip—it was a deep breath, a reminder that the world still holds places that are soft, beautiful, and quietly kind.
