the long ride that feels worth it the moment you see the sea
bang pu, or bangpu recreation center, is one of thailand’s classic seaside spots along the gulf of thailand. it’s famous, it’s easy, it’s beautiful — but don’t come on saturday, sunday, or holidays because it gets super crowded.
from where i live, it’s around 60 km, a bit of a long trip, but still doable. you can also get here by bts skytrain, head to bts khea ha and take a taxi straight to the pier.
i arrived at noon today, shooting on my sony xperia 1 iii under strong sunlight. later in the day, more people come for sunset, so it gets busy fast.

bang pu is famous for its thousands of migratory birds. if you’re a bird photographer, this place is heaven.

the coast is wide and open, perfect for watching the sea, breathing fresh ocean air, and catching a soft sunrise or a glowing sunset.
there’s also a jungle walk, and today i explored the mangroves too — quiet, green, and full of birds hiding in the branches.
